Here is a small selection of works I’ve done in the past couple years. Click on the thumbnails for larger previews.

The Catholic University of America

As a web assistant in the Center for Planning and Informational Technology at the Catholic University of America, I mainly maintain and update all parts of the university’s websites. A good bit of my years spent here were converting (including the main university website) from its old design into the new design template, which also included moving content from the old content management system (CMS) to the new one, dubbed “Topaz”. Here are just a few examples of some of the things I’ve done for them, but by no means is it all that I’ve done. Many of what I’ve done have been changed since when I’ve edited as departments are managed separately and/or many have been changed to a different format.

Sites I’ve converted from the old CMS system into Topaz:

CUA's Institute for Astrophysics and Computational Science (Thumb)

Institute for Astrophysics and Computational Science is one of the latest sites I’ve converted from an independent design on CUA’s server to the standard template used by the majority of CUA’s websites. Images were chosen and provided by those who manage the institute.

CUA's Department of Anthropology (Thumb)

Department of Anthropology supplied images (mostly stock images) to be used for the banner and background. All content was moved over, and even the tabular content script to display information was added.

Sites I’ve converted from PSD/PDF format to functional HTML/CSS coding:

CUA Magazine (Thumb)

CUA Magazine was converted from .PSD files into a functional table-less template. It has now been archived.

CUA's Year for Priests (Thumb)

Year for Priests was created in 2009 based off the standard CUA template, with a slightly customized design to suit the content needed for the symposium.

Sites I’ve built from scratch:

WCUA Radio (Thumb)

WCUA Radio Station is a student-run radio station on campus. While I was a DJ there, I was asked to re-design the website and update its content. I came up with a simple design using the black/red/white color scheme that is characteristic of the station.

What’s Good DC?

What’s Good DC? is a talk show created for teens in the DC metro area as a project of Public Media Corps. I was hired to set up a WordPress site for them, import content from their parent site over to this site, implement and modify a pre-made WordPress template for which they paid, and add/adjust any of the content/features to what they requested.

Test site for Zylicyde

Zylicyde's Test Website (Thumb)

This is a test site that I created for a friend, just to show him what he could do with his website using HTML and CSS. Content belongs to my friend, while the design was something I created. I stuck to a very simplistic and streamlined design because the focus was on the content and FAQs, not the design itself.

Intentional Eucharistic Communities

Intentional Eucharistic Communities (Thumb)

Intentional Eucharistic Communities is a site for those small-faith communities across the country who gather to celebrate the Eucharist together. I was hired to first renovate the website and then to maintain the website (including their directory). The current revision: I created a very simple design that requires no frames or tables based on what they previously had and the color scheme they desired, and inputted their directory listing into a MySQL database using PHP to call the data back. Future revision: I am working on implementing a content management system (most likely WordPress) and a new design for them.

Aria Entertainment

Aria Entertainment's Winter Memories covers (Thumb)

Aria Entertainment is an online singing cover group. For the 2010 Winter release, I was asked to create the digital ‘covers’. These digital covers are in the format of two 450×450 digital images, one intended to be the “front cover” and the other to be the “back cover”. Our concept for this album was to have something that reflected a kind of dreamy, ethereal feel to the winter scenery. Stock images from stock.xchng were used in the process.

Afternote: My clients’ views do not necessarily reflect my views. I may not agree or endorse some things they may say.
